Chess Tip of the Day: Think First, Move Second!
Our December schedule changed when Brimfield and Dunlap had to cancel their scheduled tournaments (Brimfield is rescheduled for January 18th). Rather than have nothing available for December, the GPCF is offering to hold the Winter Invitational at the Mark Twain Hotel's Packard Building. It's a rated event with discounted US Chess memberships available.
Awards will be given to the individual winners in all sections. Team trophies will also be given for the top team scores in each section. A team is composed of the top 4 scores. To compete as a team, all players must be from the same school or home schooled but teamed with the school that they would attend if in the public school system.
